Jager Landscaping began long before it became a business – it started with a 16-year-old kid, a hand-push reel mower, and two small lawns in Oakland. I didn’t have much, but I had determination. I saved every dollar I earned until I finally had $40 to buy my first rotary mower, which allowed me to take on four lawns instead of two.
From there, the work never stopped. Every season I added more lawns, more tools, more trailers, and eventually the equipment needed to handle full landscape installations, hardscaping, drainage, and property maintenance. What began as a simple neighborhood mowing route slowly grew into the full-service company Jager Landscaping is today — serving Oakland, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Ridgewood, Mahwah, Saddle River, and surrounding towns for more than 54 years.
My love for landscaping started even earlier, working alongside my grandfather in his garden. That’s where I learned how flowers grow, how soil behaves, and how a property can come alive when it’s cared for the right way. Those early days shaped everything I do now-the attention to detail, the pride in workmanship, and the belief that every property deserves to look its best.
More than five decades later, that same passion still drives every job we take on. Whether it’s planting a single shrub or transforming an entire property, the goal has always been the same: Do the job right, treat people well, and leave every yard better than we found it.
We focus on residential landscaping services that make a property feel finished, balanced, and cared for. Every design, planting, and hardscape element is chosen to suit the home, the lot, and how you want to use the space.
Our work is designed to do more than look good right after installation. We focus on layouts, materials, and planting choices that hold up well, grow properly, and continue adding structure, beauty, and value over time.
We communicate clearly, show up when expected, and keep projects moving with professionalism and care. Whether you need lawn maintenance or a larger outdoor upgrade, we want the experience to feel smooth from start to finish.
Well-planned shrub planting can completely change how a property looks and feels. At Jager Landscaping Inc., we design and install planting layouts that add color, texture, privacy, and structure without making the yard feel crowded. As a landscaping company in Oakland, we choose shrubs that fit the property, the amount of sunlight, and the space’s long-term growth. Whether you want a simple update or a full landscape installation, our planting services help create a more polished, welcoming, and finished appearance for your home overall.
Patio and walkway pavers bring structure, flow, and function to an outdoor space. We build paver features that connect different parts of the yard, improve usability, and give the property a clean, finished look. As a hardscape contractor serving Oakland and the surrounding areas, we design paver layouts that suit the home, the grade, and the way the space is used every day. From front entries to backyard patios, our professional landscaping and installation work help create outdoor areas that feel inviting, practical, and built to last.
As a landscaping company in Oakland, Jager Landscaping Inc. provides landscape design, planting, and hardscaping services with thoughtful planning, skilled installation, and results that improve curb appeal, support long-term growth, and make outdoor spaces feel more complete and welcoming.
